EDUCATION

• Associate of Science in General Studies, Salt Lake Community College
• Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Western Governors University

I began my teaching career at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School in Kearns, Utah, teaching general music classes, choir, band, and private piano lessons. Once in the classroom, I fell in love with the profession and how we educators have the power to shape the lives of the students in our care. Math is another passion of mine, so I enrolled in WGU to pursue my degree and license. For the past seven school years, I taught math and religion to the students at Saint Andrew Catholic Middle School.

My educational philosophy focuses on the premise that everyone is capable of success. As teachers, we are tasked with making our students feel safe enough to be themselves and secure enough to take the risks needed to grow and learn. We value knowledge and the struggle that is required to master difficult skills. In my fee time, I like to practice the piano, especially the works of Chopin, Beethoven, and Mozart. I also enjoy puzzles and activities that build logic and reasoning skills, especially twisty puzzles (Rubik’s cubes), and Magic the Gathering (a trading card game likened to be a cross between chess and poker). My friends and I gather several times a month to role-play Dungeons & Dragons: I am a level 13 Ranger who is very adept with his bow and teleportation. Everyone should have friend groups such as these to enrich their lives and draw closer to others.

I am excited to be working with such a vibrant community as the one I have encountered here at Judge Memorial. Go Bulldogs!
