EDUCATION

  • BA (Hon.), History and German, University of Utah

  • Secondary Religion Credential, University of Edinburgh

  • PhD, Historical Theology, Yale University

Duncan Fisher has taught religion and theology in high school and college since 1992, all except for some years in corporate pharma, for which he retrained in bioscience at Penn and then wrote up endless and tedious clinical drug trials. His teaching life, his real love, ran from Villanova all the way to Edinburgh College, and its feeder schools, in bonnie Scotland, to which he moved in 1999 to marry and raise a family. He is back in his hometown now, and he feels absolutely blessed to be at Judge — to him the perfect community of academic study, intentional self reflection, cultural nuance, and guidance in faith.

Duncan is a practising Franciscan, very busy with end-of-life hospice work, and with pastoral care in his home parish and a local sheltered living community. He also writes and podcasts on spirituality, at www.NoSermons.org.

Off duty, he paints a lot. His style is mostly Victorian sentimentality, and these vulgar works can be enjoyed or at least seen at www.DuncanFisherArt.com
