Hello, my name is Mr. Riodal, and I am a third-year teacher at Judge, teaching English 9, Integrated Science, and Yearbook. Passionate about a wide range of disciplines ranging from argumentation to chemistry to foreign language acquisition, I strive to set an example to live up to the “Cura Personalis” motto by seeking growth intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually, and encourages my students to adopt a growth mindset in all endeavors.
I was born and raised in Heber, Utah, where the teachers in my own family as well as those at my school inspired me to pursue knowledge with particular fervor. Earning the position of valedictorian from Wasatch High, I was emboldened to pursue a lofty career as a surgeon while at the University of Utah, though switched to focus on a teaching major as it became increasingly clear that I was/am too much of a klutz to be trusted operating on anyone. I am currently working on receiving a Master's degree in Chemistry education.
My chief interests are the study of literature, language, and chemistry, as well as spending time either in the mountains or in the gym. I am also a big fan of Warhammer 40k (I play Iron Warriors and Word Bearers). My favorite types of music are death metal, country, 80’s pop, and folk, and my favorite movie is Mamma Mia. I speak English, Mandarin Chinese, and Scots Gaelic, and plan to learn Welsh and Spanish in time.
