Megan Barron is the Theology Department Chair at Judge Memorial where she also serves on the Diocesan Faith Formation Board. A native of Utah, Megan began to embrace her faith as an undergraduate at Seton Hall University where she double-majored in Catholic Studies and History with a minor in Environmental Studies.
There, she also began exploring a calling to the pastoral accompaniment of youth in the model of St. John Bosco, bringing the love of Jesus Christ to young people and welcoming them into the life of the Church. In her college years, Megan served as a sacristan, was involved in FOCUS Bible studies, and helped coordinate weekly youth programming and a summer camp at an inner-city parish. This led Megan to work as a catechist, as a parish youth minister, and eventually as a teacher.
Megan is drawn very deeply to the lives of the saints whose many diverse backgrounds and stories she weaves into her classroom with regularity. In her classroom, Megan’s students are reminded constantly that each one of them is likewise called to be a saint. Megan has developed a passion for Catholic education, working at Judge alongside her husband and college sweetheart, John, who also teaches Theology. Together -— and by the grace of God — they are raising four wonderful children in faith, hope, and love.
